Despite most major stock markets experiencing significant losses and many people increasingly concerned about the decreasing value of their investments, the specialists at Hilltop Finance are encouraging people not to worry or panic, and to undertake a free pensions review with one of their experts who will advise on the different options that are available even during this turbulent time.
Senior financial adviser at Hilltop Finance, Chris Leavy, explains: “Over recent weeks the escalating situation with the current Coronavirus pandemic has had a huge impact on the worldwide stock markets. With most personal pension funds directly linked to the financial markets, many individuals across the UK have seen the value of their funds drop dramatically and are rightly concerned about what action to take.
“We are recommending that anyone with a personal pension should undertake a professional review with an adviser, to assess their individual situation, look to alleviate any potential further losses and ultimately get their pension and investments back on track,” he said.
Market volatility is not new and the worldwide stock markets regularly go through peaks and troughs which is only to be expected. Working with a professional pensions adviser could potentially provide a better return on investment evidenced by a survey carried out by the Longevity Centre in July 2017 that concluded that people who use professional financial advisors saw on average a 21% increase in the value of their funds against those who didn’t.
So, what can people do? According to Chris, now is a good time to review your pensions and investments with the help of an expert: “In situations of market volatility, we recommend checking the performance, value and type of funds that you are invested in,” he says, “A fully actively managed fund, or a mixture of actively and passively-managed products could help reduce the chance of huge drops in fund value and help investors ride the good and bad times with the markets.
“The most important point to take away at this time is to seek professional advice from a fully regulated, independent pensions expert who can offer access to the whole of market and place your funds in the most appropriate place at the right time,” he concludes.
Fully regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Hilltop Finance takes responsibility for overseeing its clients’ pensions and investments extremely seriously with a view to securing their long-term financial future. It is offering a free independent pensions and investments review for anyone concerned about their current situation to check whether existing private pensions and investments are performing as they should be – and if not, their expert advisors will offer advice and recommendations to get them back on track.
